They say by looking in the past you can learn for the future. Or something like that. Today I was in the nesting mode and having chosen the to send Samantha off to Nonna's I started clearing some rooms of clutter and came across my diary of 15 years ago. Where I had a good laugh reading and reminiscing. Here's what I wrote 15 years ago on January 4 1993, my comments are bolded & in brackets.

Today was the 1st day back. Animal Behaviour (my 3rd year UofT class) is going to be a hard course. We have to know a basic level of algebra and don't ask me if I can remember. (Turns out we didn't need algebra) But I need this course so I'll have to study. As for dropping SOC346 I still don't know.
I'm very tired for the past few days, I've been sleeping quite a bit and today & yesterday I've had a sore throat. I wonder what it could be? (At least I was getting lots of sleep back then)
Oh yeah! On New Year's Eve when I was at work, this GORGEOUS, guy came in. He talked to me quite a bit and he asked if I wanted to go to a New Year's Eve party with him but I said no cause I thought he was only joking and I didn't want to make a fool of myself. Anyway, I guess I lost a pretty good chance with a gorgeous guy. (Oh my god, I was soooo lost).
Well tomorrow's the first day back at kindergarten. (My volunteer class). I wonder if Ed will be there and if I'll still like him. (Ed was one of the guidance counsellors and gay, this didn't deter me). I wonder if Doughboy has a tan? He looks the type to burn not tan so maybe he'll be all red.
On Santa Barbara, (my fav soap opera) Lily & Ted got married, Ken has been arrested, Sophia's almost dying. It has been pretty good, I can't believe there's only 2 weeks left.
I have a headache now. I'm stopping for now.

What can I learn from that? Absolutely nothing, except for the fact that I was boy crazy, naieve, a tad insecure and loved watching TV. Pretty normal behaviour I think.

OMG, on my feeds list you're right above a good male blogger and I thought I was reading him. You should have seen how stunned I was when I read about the "gorgeous guy" and Santa Barbara. Why it didn't twig when I read about Samantha going to Nonna's I have no idea. LMAO!

I love old diary posts. But I bet I could learn next to nothing from mine either!

Thanks for sharing! I would die before I would share my journal entries from fifteen years ago...they are so pathetic.

Hey, I took Animal Behaviour too! All I remember from it was spending a few hours in Queen's Park, recording the fixed actions patterns of squirrels. That aside, I hope we all aren't laughing about our blog entries in 15 years time. It's different, right?
