Notes from Abroad, Finale

Edited to add :( Samantha has thrown up twice now...she's sleeping again at 10:30pm....this will be the first time I've dealt with this kind of sickness...she woke up screaming because she had thrown up and I felt so horrible because it's not the most pleasant way to wake up and also because I made her eat her dinner tonite when she didn't want to and now I feel even more horrible because I had no idea she wasn't feeling well...ughh...I'm hoping she sleeps well through the night...

It's Sunday afternoon, vacation is over. The flu has run its course. I'm still on a light diet of soup, toast and the occasional chocolate muffin but I'm feeling better, and I think Joe was pretty tired of taking care of Samantha 24 7. But I've made it downstairs to the land of the living. I have lost 6lb which I guess is one way to motivate me to start eating right and maybe, just maybe, accomplish one New Year's resolution. The hardest part though is coming up with a healthy and nutritious snack idea. I always crave something sweet, especially while at work. I know fruit is such an obvious choice but eating fruit is sometimes a huge struggle for me. So I'm looking for some alternatives. Any ideas???

I am a professional snacker but the "diet" starts tomorrow so I'll be running a tighter ship. I was at the store today and found Special K bars which are good to begin with but now they have ones with a touch of chocolate on them for no more fat or calories. Score!

I've got no good diet advise - I'd just be eating those muffins. I'm glad you're staring to feel better though.

Oh, I've done that to the Boy too. Ack the guilt!

Snack ideas? Have you tried the new All Bran cereal called Guardian? It's got psyllium fibre and tastes like maple flavoured cheerios..yummy! I personally like celery and cheese whiz, but that doesn't work for sweet. I usually have jelly beans or some sort of gummies - has calories but no fat, so as long as you're doing some cardio they're ok.
